Each Tuesday I plan to share something new that I’m learning from the Apothecary -A Beginner’s Guide to Crafting Herbal Medicine class that I am taking online. I’m already on the third video class but I finally received all my herbs that I needed to make chamomile tea with roses.
A larger tea strainer helps with the extraction of the herbs, which is more beneficial when drinking the tea. Chamomile helps with digestion, relaxation and it also an anti-inflammatory. Rose petals helps with anxiety, digestion and also helps with inflammation. Oatstraw helps to calm stress and anxiety, is beneficial to heart health, bones, skin and hair, and is also a good source for calcium.
For this tea I found I could drink it without honey and found it to be very soothing and with the touch of vanilla bean, it quite enjoyable to drink. If I do add honey in the future, I will add local raw honey, which is beneficial for combating allergies and more.
I’m really excited about what I’m learning and can’t wait to learn more about making teas. The best part is going to my now full apothecary cabinet to make teas, home remedies and more!
Have a great day!
