I am so excited about my finished handspun hat. I love how it looks, and it fits great! The Cheviot is soft and the hat is not super heavy, which will be perfect to wear on my morning walks here in Phoenix.
Here are the particulars:
Start Date: January 13, 2022
Finish Date: January 17, 2022
Pattern: WA 101 by Kali Berg (free pattern on Ravelry) Well written pattern and could be easy knitted up in two days.
Needles: US Size 7 and US Size 9 Knitters Pride Zing 16” circulars and a set of US Size 9 DPNs.
Yarn: 124 yards of Cheviot handspun in the color Owls. The fiber was dyed by Quillin Fiberarts. I ended up with 36 yards left, which I re-skeined for future use. The yarn still had a bit of energy in it but it didn’t effect the knitted fabric.
Working with my own handspun yarn is always so satisfying and has made me realize that I want to spin more. I have a feeling this year will be the year of spinning and the use of handspun in more projects.
