Wednesday WIPs: Knitting and Spinning

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday, this week is moving right along and seems to be quick too.  My knitting WIPs are quite sad at the moment.  I really hav felt like sock knitting so nothing has been worked on since the end of December.

However my shawl is knitting up quickly and I just finished the first lace panel.  It’s not much to look at now but once it’s blocked out the lace design will show up much better. The colors of my handspun has really captured my heart… I’m in love with the fall looking  colors!

I started spinning my White Andean Mountain wool and have to say it is spinning up like a dream.  The wool itself seems to be a bit course, not soft as Merino or Corridale, but I am loving on it spins.

I am also enjoying my Blue Face Leicester in the colorway Bounty Hunter’s Picnic.  As mentioned in an earlier post, I am spinning rolags I created last April. You can read more about my blending fun here

I have nothing else that I’m working on but do plan to cast on a cardigan soon.  What are you working on?

  1. I love all the colors you're working with right now – what a lovely winter palette! I'm not doing too much knitting right now. I have a pair of socks that I randomly return to when I feel like picking up the needles, but knit on it just once or twice a week — if I'm lucky! That's okay. The urge comes and goes for me but I have plenty of other interests to fill in the gaps.

  2. I've never heard of White Andean Mountain wool! Sounds like an interesting experience.I've been working on a sweater, but I've paused briefly to knit my daughter some mittens. The first one is done except for the last couple of rounds on the thumb, and I'm hoping to get through the second one today.
