My One Word: Forgiveness

I have chosen my 2022 word carefully,  and thoughtfully.  It was a bit of a struggle to choose between two words that seemed appropriate for this year, and for this time of my life.  For those of you that have shared Carolyn’s One Word  idea on your blogs, thank you as it was something I needed for this year and years to come.

So, my word for this year is forgiveness  and here’s a bit more about this word from Merriam-Webster Website …

forgive

 verb

for·give |  \ fər-ˈgiv   fȯr-  \
forgave\ fər-ˈgāv   fȯr-  \forgiven\ fər-ˈgi-vən   fȯr-  \forgiving

Essential Meaning of forgive

1to stop feeling anger toward (someone who has done something wrong) to stop blaming (someone)

2to stop feeling anger about (something) to forgive someone for (something wrong)

This word for me is one I thought long and hard about and one that is truly appropriate for this time of my life.  I am hopeful that thinking about this word and learning from this word that I will be able to forgive, find peace and learn to move on.

Thank you for letting me share.

  1. I'm so glad to 'meet you' here, and especially over One Word. This already feels like a powerful and moving journey, from the inside out. I'm looking forward to companioning one another.
