On The Bookshelf: Death Comes to Pemberley

“could even the most brilliant novelist contrive to make credible so short a period in which pride had been subdued and prejudice overcome?” ― P.D. James, Death Comes to Pemberley

I started reading Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D.James last Tuesday.

Now I must say I have never read any of Jane Austen’s books,  and I know many of you may be gasping in shock or shaking your heads, but no matter how much I’ve tried I can never seem to get into the books.  Love the storyline, but not the books.

Some day that may change and I may have to read Pride and Prejudice.

With that being said, I’m enjoying P.D. James book.  It has just enough of Austen in it mixed with James’ flair for mystery to keep me interested.

It will be interesting to see how I feel about this book when am all done, but so far I love it!

So is there anyone like me who can’t get into reading Jane Austen?

Have a great day everyone!
