A Monday Catch Up Post

The weather has been so wonderful over the last few days here in the Valley of the Sun.  We have enjoyed the mid-60s and rain, which is a welcomed reprieve from the heat. Saturday and Sunday we sat outside with our coffee, soaking in the cool temperatures and the “feel of fall”. I even repotted a few plants and bought a couple of new plants, which I will share at a later date.

Is this not a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love – that makes life and nature harmonize. ~George Eliot

Not to much happened over the weekend were crafting is concerned but I have made progress with two of my knitting projects and I started a cross stitching project that I am very excited about.

I really love this color!!!

I separated the sleeves for my Nuuk and plan to finish the remainder of the skein I had joined, and then will finish the sleeves and the neckline before starting the body.  I want to do this to make sure I have enough of the Tartan color before moving on the the rest of the body.

For my fall socks, I finished the heel and now working on the leg of the sock, which will be finished this week.  I plan to finish the heel of my Christmas socks today, or at least by tomorrow and work on the leg too.

And guys … I love my cross stitching project!! I am stitching the Primrose Cottage Stitches Happy Halloween design and I am substituting the floss colors because I simply wanted to use what I had in my thread stash. The pattern calls for three colors by Weeks Dye Works as follows:

Persimmon – I substituted one strand of Gentle Arts Thread in Gingersnap and one strand of Classic Colorworks in Colonial Copper.

Parchment – I had this color, but it was showing up on the fabric so I substituted one strand of Gentle Arts Thread in Carmel Corn and Buttermilk

Onyx – I had this in my stash!

On the reading front, I am currently reading The Monogram Murders by Sophie Hannah.  So far I am really enjoying this book and making good progress.  I want to know “who did it”, so I am having trouble putting my book down.

Time for coffee and knitting, so wishing you all a wonderful day!

Until next time, be creative ~ Tina
