Friday Round Up …. Progress Is Being Made

This week hasn’t been the best week for knitting but the knitting I have managed to get done has been very productive.

I am working of the heel of my toe up version of Hermiones Every Day Socks.  This project is what I work on through out the day but due to being very busy this week, I didn’t make as much progress as I hoped I would.  Fingers crossed that I will have a bit of time today for knitting, I really want to get my pair of socks finished!

I have also made progress on my Worsted Boxy Sweater and just about to the point of shaping the back. I would love to have this sweater off my needles by the end of next week and think it is doable if I just focus on getting it done.

I also have caked a new skein of yarn and can’t decide if I want to use it for another Musselburgh Hat or a pair of socks.  The yarn is Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Authentic Hand-Dyed in the color Shibori Blue. I absolutely love the colors and have strongly leaning towards a Musselburgh Hat, but think socks might be fun too!  Now to decide.

This week I caught up on my video podcasts that I enjoy watching, Kristin Lehrer of Voolenvine Yarns , The Woolly Thistle and Little Big Knits.  Now I’m inspired to knit, and want to knit all the things on my list now! I also purchased a new pattern, Hana by Junko Okamoto, after reading a post on Modern Day Knitting. I have wanted to make this pattern for a very long time and decided it was time to give it a go.  Not sure what yarn I will be using, but I’m sure I can find something in my stash that will work perfectly for this unique design.

Until next time, be creative !

  1. Hermione's Socks are a phenomenon, aren't they? I know that I made it twice or thrice, but it's one you always come back to somehow. Really cool (and I love the colour you are using). AND now I'm curious which pattern you will pick for your Hobby Lobby yarn! 🙂 (The Musselburgh Hat is making kind of the rounds, could that be? Sarah (from Paknitwit) recently finished one as well)

  2. I so agree about this pattern and love knitting it … it’s comforting and super easy. The Musselburgh Hat rage is really strong and started with Kate, the Crazy Sock Lady. I made one this spring and probably will make another with the yarn I got from Hobby Lobby.
