On My Needles…. Hermiones Every Day Socks

So I casted on a new pair of socks, and as mentioned in Friday’s post  decided on Erica Lueder’s pattern, Hermiones Every Day Socks.

The pattern is written for cuff down socks but I have decided to make toe up and will be using the slipped stitch heel method as I did in my last pair of socks.  The above photo was taken Friday morning and I am now on the increase section for the gusset.  I absolutely love the color of the yarn and believe this was the perfect pairing of yarn and design.

This weekend I made the decision to step away from Instagram for a while.  I allowed myself to be sucked back into it a few months ago but feel I need to let it go.  I want to spend more time doing things I truly enjoy instead of spending mindless hours of scrolling.

The only other projects that I have finished are these two art journal pages.  I love them! The one Bible verse that keeps coming back to me is “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” – Colossians 3:2 This verse is the other reason I have stepped away from Instagram.  I no longer want, or need, to be part of the world. I only need to be part of God’s world, and in a nutshell, social media is not for me and I can find the inspiration I was looking for elsewhere (nature and books).

Now to decide on what to draw next, and what fiber projects I want to tackle.

Until next time, be creative!

  1. Hello, thanks for visiting and following my blog and leaving a kind comment. I see you live in Arizona. We lived in Gilbert for 16 years before moving back up here to Utah. I love that scripture – definitely one to keep in mind as our world seems to get crazier and crazier. I hope you have a good week. 🙂

  2. You are so very welcome Deb. Yes, I live in Arizona and we have been here, on and off, most of our lives. Utah is such a beautiful state, and one we have often thought it would be nice to move too. Our world is truly getting crazier and crazier, this scripture to me was a good reminder. Have a wonderful week too and thank you as well for visiting 😊
