Friday FOs – One Finished Sock

In April I casted on a vanilla toe up sock using my stash of Plymouth Happy Feet in 100 Splash in the color Autumn.  The colors in this yarn is so beautiful and the yarn itself is so soft!  For some reason I set the sock aside, probably because I have been on a sweater knitting kick, but decided this week it was time to finish it and cast on its mate.

So, yesterday I finished it and immediately casted on the mate.  I am using a slipped stitch heel for toe up socks created by Wendy Johnson and really like how it looks and plan to make more toe up socks using this heel method.  The only thing I was not quite happy about was the stretchy bind off method I used for the cuff.  It turned out ok, but looks a bit loose. I need to find a different method for future socks.

With the specks of orange, black and purple, the finished pair of socks will be perfect for this fall, especially for Halloween.  I can’t wait to finish the mate!!!

Until next time, be creative!
