Friday Finished Object: My Nuuk is Finished

I am so excited about finishing my Nuuk Sweater. This is the second sweater that I’ve finished, which makes me so very happy. My goal is to have a well rounded and well balanced knitted wardrobe, that will include not only sweaters but vests too.

Pattern:  Nuuk by Jonna Hietala

Yarn:  Brooklyn Tweed Shelter

  • 3 skeins in Fossil
  • 3 skeins in Snowbound
  • 1 skein in Soot
Needle:  Knitter’s Pride Zing fixed circular needle US Size 8

I plan to make at least three more sweaters using this pattern.  I plan to knit another short sleeve (as the pattern is written), a three quarter sleeve and maybe a long sleeve. While this design is simple, it is so versatile with many possibilities!

Now to go through my stash to see what else might work, but thinking my stash of Noro Akari definitely will be one consideration, especially for a longer sleeve version.  I need 980 for the short sleeve version, and I have a total of three skeins (525 yards each skein) in the colors Totori Dunes (a mix of browns) and Nachi Falls(a mix of blacks and browns).  This means I would have plenty of yarn for two longer sleeve sweaters.

Until next time, be creative!
