I believe that where there is pure and active love for the poor there is God also. I see God in every thread that I draw on the spinning wheel. (Young India,20-5-1926)
A few weeks ago I shared that I finished one skein of handspun in my beautiful Targhee blend from Sherrill of The 1764 Shepherdess. I truly love how my skein turned out and have been inspired to start spinning the second half of my fiber. It is spinning up beautifully and I am hoping to achieve at least the same yardage or better (fingers crossed). If I end up with a least 120 yards, I plan to make either a pair of mitts or a cabled headband (my own design from a few years ago).
My goal this year is to spin my stash, which I will admit is out of control. After I finish spinning my Targhee, I want to start the hand carded fiber my friend Lara sent me for my birthday last year.
Isn’t this fiber gorgeous!! I can’t wait to spin it up and us it for something extra special. It’s an alpaca blend and I am super excited about spinning it.
