I spent Sunday sewing and made an iPad cover using fabric I purchased almost a year ago ( original post here ) from a local shop I absolutely love. The fabric is All a Twitter by Robert Kaufman and it is cover in my favorite poem, and quote.
The first few lines of Emily Dickenson’s poem below and has been my favorite poem for many years. One reason I bought this fabric was due to this poem.
“Hope” is the thing with feathers
I used the poem fabric and feather fabric for my project, along with a few vintage yo yo’s, buttons from my stash and the back half of an iPad cover that I repurposed.
“Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” Henry Van Dyke
I used heavy duty double stick tape to attach the repurposed iPad cover back, which fit perfectly! I still need to find snaps for the edge closure, but I honestly can say I love how it turned out and I’m proud of my binding too.
Hmmm…. I think I am really loving sewing these days and bought fabric this weekend for two more tops. I really want to learn how to sew well so that I can make all my clothing and I want to really get good at quilting. I do believe this will be a fun adventure for me.
