I have been very neglectful of my spinning wheel(s) lately, in fact the last time I actually sat down to spin was almost a month ago. Yikes … that’s way too long to go without spinning but it’s largely due to my creative nature taking hold and guiding me into an opposite direction.
My husband and I are trying our best to dedicate Sundays to a day of rest or as a day to do things around our home. I spent my morning making homemade “Egg McMuffins” for my hubby’s breakfast for the week, trimming and bathing Cody, and laundry. Hubby has been working outside down a bit of necessary yard work and basically doesn’t like me to interfere unless he needs help. His philosophy is that the outside belongs to him and it’s his responsibility for making sure everything looks good and is taken care of.
Cody isn’t quite sure about his haircut but he was super happy to have his bath, this dog loves baths!
So after I finished what I wanted to accomplish early in the day, I sat down at my wheel and finished the bobbin I started last month. For those of you who might be interested, here’s a link to my original post from January.

I was thinking of creating a 2-ply but have decided to chain / n-ply instead. I am also leaning towards a pair of mitts with the finished wool, which will be so soft and lovely to wear! I will be starting the other half of my braid this week.
I am also trying to finish up my embroidery on my thrifted linen vest and loving how it is starting to look and take shape. Please forgive the wrinkles and hoop marks, but I wanted to share a progress photos.
Do you have a day in the week that you dedicate to rest ? If so, how do you spend your day ? We are trying to spend our day just doing something we absolutely love, it doesn’t always work out like we hope but in the end, we feel a little bit more rested.
