As spring approaches, my desire to knit and spin is getting less and less as I find myself drawn to embroidery and quilting.  Don’t get me wrong, I love knitting and spinning but I sometimes I need a change. I am just about finished with my sweater, working on the sleeves, and will be working on my socks once it is finished and packed away until the end of the year.

This past weekend I was so happy to visit a few of my favorite quilt shops and picked up fabric for fun project, such as table runners, including one using hexies (English Paper Piecing).  I love batik fabrics and I couldn’t resist picking up a few pieces with a southwest inspired theme.  I am planning to make a hexie pieced table runner with these pieces, along with a few I have in my fabric stash.

I also picked up a fat quarter set of  fabrics by Robert Hoffman in All A Twitter.  This collection is beautiful and the colors are just perfect for a spring inspired table runner.
